Solicits and manages new social accounts with emphasis on wedding and other social business, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. (Employee must be able to complete essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.)
Meet and greet clients and conduct property tours in order to promote facilities and services
Consult with representatives of client group or organization to plan details such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule with customized menus
Write and develop contracts and letters for clients
Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of social events
Prepare and present weekly and monthly catering/sales forecasts and analyses
Perform all administrative duties relevant to the accounts
Document and organize detailed requirements of each function of the hotel for every event including coordinating activities of various departments to service specific accounts based on customization
Communicate effectively with department heads, sales, front office and reservations in order to coordinate/monitor guest room blocks and special reservations.
Assign banquet meeting rooms set-up based upon needs of the client. Oversee banquet staff work.
Direct staff in preparing banquet and convention rooms and erecting displays and exhibits.
Inspect rooms and displays for accuracy due to needs and desires of the group.
Arrange publicity, special functions, adjust complaints, and perform other duties to promote goodwill.
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Oversees work of various functions in order to execute events.
1-3 years of experience in event coordination or relevant hospitality or sales experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or relative experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to read/write complex reports, contracts, and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
